- Kapitel 16 -

The presence of God

(Acts 2:14-36)

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.(a)

O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord , Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.(b)

The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.(c)

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

I will bless the Lord , who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.(d)

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Die Anwesenheit Gottes

(Apostelgeschichte 2,14-36)

Aufschrift Davids. Von David. Behüte mich, Herr! denn auf dich vertraue ich.

Ich spreche zu dem Herrn: Mein Gott bist du, denn nicht bedarfst du meiner Güter.

Den Heiligen, die in seinem Lande sind, hat er wunderbar alle meine Wünsche zugewendet.

Gemehrt haben sich ihre Götzen, sie eilen denselben nach. Nicht werde ich ihre Versammlungen zusammenrufen zu Blutopfern, noch ihre Namen auf meine Lippen nehmen.

Der Herr ist mein Erbteil und meines Bechers Anteil; du bist es, der mir mein Erbe verleiht.

Auf Herrliches ist mir das Los gefallen, denn mein Erbe ist mir herrlich.

Ich will den Herrn preisen, der mir Einsicht gegeben; dazu mahnt mich selbst bis in die Nacht mein Innerstes.

Ich sehe den Herrn allezeit vor mir; denn er steht mir zur Rechten, damit ich nicht wanke.

Darum freut sich mein Herz und frohlockt meine Zunge, und auch mein Leib wird in Zuversicht ruhen;

denn du wirst meine Seele nicht im Totenreiche lassen noch deinen Heiligen die Verwesung schauen lassen.

Du wirst mir die Wege des Lebens kundtun, wirst mich mit Wonne erfüllen vor deinem Angesichte, Freude zu deiner Rechten immerdar.
